Trabzon Kuymak Cheese for Künefe (Kuymaklık Peynir) 400 g – WeNatur

Trabzon kuymak cheese – in Turkish “Trabzon Kuymaklık Peynir”, in German “Kuymak-Käse” – is a traditional Black Sea cheese for the famous kuymak (muhlama) and for künefe. It is known for melting and stretching into long strings when heated, and comes in a 400 g vacuum pack.

The cheese has a mild, milky taste. When heated it turns creamy and stretches into long strands, which gives kuymak and künefe their typical texture. In the kitchen it is used in kuymak made with butter and cornmeal, between layers of kadayif in homemade künefe, and melted in pide, gözleme, toasties and oven dishes.
