Dried Eggplants for Dolma (Dolmalık Patlıcan Kurusu) from Antep, 45-50 pcs – WeNatur

Antep dried eggplants – in Turkish “Dolmalık Patlıcan Kurusu”, in German “Getrocknete Auberginen” – are a traditional ingredient of Gaziantep's winter kitchen. Selected eggplants are hollowed out, strung on cords and dried naturally. One pack contains around 45-50 pieces; as a natural product, count, size and colour may vary.

The product consists only of dried eggplants and contains no additives. Compared with fresh eggplants they have a deeper, slightly smoky flavour. In the kitchen they are mainly used for stuffed eggplants with a rice or bulgur filling, with minced meat, or cooked together with dried peppers as mixed dolma. They soften as they cook and take on the taste of the filling.
