Antep Homemade Hot Pepper Paste (Acı Biber Salçası) 1 kg – WeNatur

Antep homemade hot pepper paste – in Turkish “Antep Ev Yapımı Acı Biber Salçası”, in German “Scharfes Paprikamark” – is one of the traditional specialities of Antep cuisine. Hot peppers are crushed, salted and traditionally thickened in the sun. The paste has just two ingredients, hot peppers and salt, and comes in a jar with 1 kg net.

It offers an intense, distinct and spicy heat; sun-drying gives it a deep red colour and a rich pepper aroma. As it is very concentrated, a small amount is enough. In the kitchen it adds colour and heat to stews, white beans and vegetable dishes, is a typical ingredient of meze such as muhammara, ezme and kısır, and is used at breakfast, for example in menemen.
