When choosing a care cream, the same question often comes up: for the face or the body, for day or night? WeNatur's Creams collection brings together face creams, SPF 50+ sunscreens, a massage cream and a nappy cream for babies from the brands THE CEEL, JEONJU and Zühre Ana in one place. In this guide we explain step by step what to look for on the label when choosing a care cream, in which order you can use the products and how to store your creams properly.
All products are shipped from our warehouse in Germany with DHL or DPD; shipping within Germany is free for orders over €100. You can find the details in our shipping policy.
What is a care cream?
A care cream is a cosmetic product made by combining a water phase and an oil phase, applied to the skin in a thin layer. The formula usually contains moisturising ingredients (for example glycerin or hyaluronic acid), plant oils and lipid-like substances. Depending on the ratio of water to oil, the texture can range from a light lotion to a rich balm. A care cream made for the face usually has a lighter, fast-absorbing texture, while body and massage creams can be more slippery.
Sunscreens are also part of this family; with them, however, the SPF value and UVA/UVB filters stated on the label are what matter most. Baby creams are made with simpler ingredient lists for sensitive areas.

How to choose the right care cream
When choosing a care cream, first decide where you will use it: the face, the body or your baby's nappy area. Then read the label. These points make the decision easier:
- Ingredient list (INCI): Ingredients are listed in descending order of quantity. If you have a known sensitivity, always check the list.
- Texture: Combination and oily skin usually feels more comfortable with light, fast-absorbing creams; dry skin with richer textures.
- Time of use: Products containing retinal or retinol suit the evening routine; during the day, a sunscreen with SPF should be used.
- Pack size: A 15 ml tube is handy for trying and travelling; packs of 50 ml and more last longer with regular use.
- Who it is for: Products made for children and babies are marked separately.
A daily routine with a care cream
A simple routine is often the easiest one to stick with. In the morning, after cleansing your face, use a serum if you like, then a light care cream and, as the last step, a sunscreen. Apply sunscreen generously before going out in the sun and reapply during the day as recommended on the label. In the evening, after removing make-up and sunscreen, apply the cream you have chosen for the night in a thin layer.
If you would like to build a routine together with serums, take a look at our Face Serums collection. If you are looking for a similar routine for your hair, the Hair Care Products page is a good place to start.
Application tips
- When applying a care cream, start with clean hands and a small amount; add a second layer if needed.
- Spread the cream from the centre of the face outwards with gentle movements; avoid contact with the eyes.
- Apply the massage cream only to the area to be massaged and wash your hands afterwards.
- Apply the nappy cream in a thin layer to cleansed and dried skin when changing nappies.
Patch test and precautions
Before trying a new care cream, we recommend a small patch test: apply a small amount of the product to a small area such as behind the ear or the inner arm and wait 24 hours. If you notice redness, itching or discomfort, do not use the product. Cosmetic products are for external use only; they should not be applied to open wounds and should be kept out of the reach of children.
How to store creams
Store your creams in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. High humidity and temperature changes in the bathroom cabinet can affect the texture of the product. Close the lid tightly after use. The period-after-opening symbol on the packaging (for example 12M) shows how many months you can use the product after opening it. Take care not to leave sunscreens in the car or in direct sun on the beach in summer.
Frequently asked questions about care creams
Can the same care cream be used for day and night?
Unless the label says otherwise, a light moisturising cream can be used morning and evening. Products containing retinal, such as THE CEEL Retinal Shot, are recommended for evening use; always add a sunscreen during the day.
Does a sunscreen replace a care cream?
Some sunscreens contain moisturising ingredients such as hyaluronic acid; even so, many people prefer to use a light care cream first and then sunscreen. It depends entirely on your skin's needs and your personal preference.
Which sunscreen is suitable for children?
Our collection includes Zühre Ana Kids Sunscreen SPF 50+, made specifically for children. Read the age and application recommendations on the label before use.
