WeNatur Pomegranate Walnut Sucuk – in Turkish “Narlı Cevizli Sucuk”, in German “Walnuss-Sucuk mit Granatapfelaroma” – is a traditional sweet made from strings of walnut kernels covered in a pomegranate-flavoured coating with pekmez. Despite its name it contains no meat: “sucuk” only describes its long, sausage-like shape. The walnut sucuk comes in a handy 250 g pack. Similar walnut strings are known as köme in some regions of Türkiye, and “ceviz” is the Turkish word for walnut.

When sliced, large walnut pieces show in the cross-section; the glossy red coating gives a soft, slightly chewy texture. Ready to eat: slice it and serve at breakfast, with tea or coffee or for guests – or add it to platters of dried fruit and nuts.
